Re: Possible MBD and a broken heart

Laurak, thank you for your help. Their cage is 6ft tall and about 4ft wide by about 3ft deep. It is in my kitchen with double stack windows everywhere. But, I thought they needed direct sunlight (not through a screen or window pane). As well, if she is in her bed she is not exposed to any light duri...

Re: Possible MBD and a broken heart

Oh, I forgot. We went out this evening and purchased two different UVB lights. One bulb is a 5.0 and the other is a 10.0. Each have different housing. Joan, would you suggest that I use them or do you think it would make her miserable. If you suggest on using them, how long would you do it for?

Re: Possible MBD and a broken heart

Thanks for all your suggestions and kindness. Joan, I was wondering if only offering the Reptocal is the norm now. It's been a long time since I studied on the forum. I did make it avail 100 percent of the time on the nut mixture. I'm curious, what made you start doing solely this? I forgot to tell ...

Re: Possible MBD and a broken heart

Unfortunately, we do not live in a legal state. Damn those laws!!!!! The only warning sign was a little episode that lasted about 4 or 5 minutes 10 days prior to her death. She was in her potty and jumped out and ran across the counter and just froze for a few minutes. I thought she was just scarecd...

Possible MBD and a broken heart

It's been a long time since I posted anything on here. I've always lurked around though. Now, I need some expert help. My babies are Peaches and Sweet Pea. I lost Sweet Pea last saturday. I had no idea she was so sick. Now I have Peaches still and am worried that since she was eating the same food t...

I've just read all this and wanted to express my sorrow for what you've been through. It must have been devistating. When I was a little girl (many, many moons ago) my mother explained to me that it was God's way of taking care of things. The little pup more than likely died and you just didn't know...

If they get dehydrated, I would not, under any circumstances, give them honey mixed in with anything. It will do more harm than you can imagine. Tom lost some pups this way and we cannot even give it to human babies. Use pedialite instead.

You will need to replace the good bacteria in his tummy. Offer him yogurt with live cultures. Make sure he eats this. Trust me, I know. I didn't get my official title for nothing. Good Luck.

You can also get some opthalamolic ointment (I know I spelled that wrong) from your feed and seed sore. Put a little on. It won't hurt her.
It's the same thing that humans use but we have to get a script for it plus pay the Dr. to get the script.

BUT, do they still eat their veggies if they have nuts available. That's sorta like putting candy and veggies in front of a kid isn't it? I'm just worried they will not get the nutrients they need. I read somewhere on here that somebody was given a flyer that never had anything but nuts.
