Thanks Joan. She is caged separately but beside another flyer.
She is still awake but seems comfortable in her bed.
You know how it is, you can't help but to worry.

My flyer is vomiing

I have a flyer who is about 8 years old. She has always been healthy until this morning when she got up and stayed awake ane out in her cage, not very active, just moping around. After she was up for about an hour, I noticed her go to the floor of her cage and vomited several times. I know they are ...

Re: How can I get my flyer baby to stop nursing his genitals

There is not much you can do. I have had baby gray squirrels who nurse their genitals. People would tell me to feed him but that was not the case. Just as soon as I fed him, he started to nurse his genitals. They got so swollen and sore that he wouldn't nurse them as much. You might want to try Yuck...

Re: please help

I have had so many little rehabs come in with the exact symptoms from a cat bite.
What is was is the cat had bitten them along the spine.
Check him carefully for bite wounds along the spine.
It is a must to get him on an antibiotic, Baytril or SMZ/TMP within 24
hours of the bite.

Re: MBD or Nerve Damage?

I picked up a juvenile flyer from the vet on the 19th. He was paralyzed from the hips down, but they could find no physical injury to cause it. His hind legs were totally limp, and his little toes were cold. The person that turned the pup in said that his dog found it, but we don't know if the dog ...

Re: tail problems?

If her tailbone was not swollen and purple, I wouldn't worry about it. Shelly always loses the hair all the way down the middle of her tail when she molts. I can see the bone down the middle. I have had other flyers do the same thing but it happens every year. Since Navi's tail is swollen and purple...

She needs to get to a vet and on antibiotics if she needs them.

How often is she eating? 3 cc's sounds like a lot to me. I have had babies for the last month, and they don't drink 3 cc's until they are older. Maybe feed her less more often depending on how many times a day she is eating now. If her eyes have been open since Tuesday, I think she 4 wks old. And th...

Here is what we do for bloat in baby squirrels, greys and other mammals. Use Pedialyte if you have it. Mix one drop of liquid Beano in two tablespoons of Pedialyte. If you don't havge Pedialyte, mix up 2 tablespoons of water,1 teaspoon of sugar, a tiny bit of salt, and a drop of liquid Beano. Give h...

Tom is 100% right. I have had Eastern Greys who would get formula in their nose over and over. One started the "clicking", and it was pneumonia. The formula not only got into it's nose but in the lungs also. It needs to get to a vet and on antibiotics.

I was giving my flyers sweeet potato everyday and they gained weight from that. I stopped giving it to them and they slimmed down.

I use Calcivet. I put a drop in their yogurt three times a week. I don't know if that is the right amount or not. Also, I do not use a vitamin in addition. Someone please advise if I'm doing the right amount and/or if vetamins needs to be used also.
