Birthday Boy!

Hi everyone! I hope all are well...HOFs and Flyers included. I've been healing from a spinal injury the past 5 mths and am happy to say that I'm almost back to a normal routine again. That's one of the reasons I haven't been active on the board. I'm excited to say that we just celebrated Chipper's 2...

Re: Need help with bonding!

Can I expect her to want to escape like this in the future? Yes, definately! When they realize that it throws you into a panic when they get out, they will spend all their spare time trying to escape, just to prove that they can. They may not go any further than the top of their cage, and then just...

How old is your flyer? Flyers are nocternal and as they reach adulthood will begin sleeping during the day and becoming active at night. Mine will give me a good chewing out :bad-words: if I disturb them during the day, unless I have a goodie for them.

I'm not on the emergency team. Hopefully someone will get with you soon and ask you some questions, etc. My Chipper broke something in his paw shortly after he started gliding from our curtains. Sounds like both my kids. They look for me to play with and be their buddy. I don't get to pet too often. But, when they let me I enjoy it as much as possible. Chipper would rather have me watch me jump and glide and be a part of his acrobatic apparatice. Cali still will shirt dive. Of course, I'm a...

Chippy and Cali or so funny, :D but do you have any problems with them being to close to each other and not you and do they sleep in the same cage. The reason I ask this is because this fall we are going to be getting another flyer, maybe a boy and I want to know what I'm in for. :( It is suggested...

I've had mine for 2 years now and they keep themselves very clean. They never smell. Of course, I have 5 acres of trees to do...

I order my mealies. If you purchase from a bait shop make sure they are not super worms. They use hormones to get those buggers that size and will probably not be safe for your flyer. Check the section on Adult SFD Diet and there is a post about what types of worms are good for your flyers and where...

How far do you have Chippy jumping. It all depends from where he decides he wants to jump from. He's in our master bedroom and the cage is hung from the cathedral ceiling...I would say at the top of the cage sits 9-10 feet up and he can easily clear 3/4 of the length of the room. He can jump from t...

Chipper still does that. It started out like Joan said. Now, he has learned that when he bites hard (never breaks the skin) it hurts and it gets my attention. So, he uses it to emphasis that he wants to me to play with him. There have been many a night that I was sound asleep and have been awaken by...

A lot of flyers do not like the pouch, my Chipper being one of them. He was fine to start out with and when he hit that age he decided that pouches weren't his thing. If he couldn't escape, then he would panic being confined to it. They all have very different personalities just like humans. Some wa...
