Re: Seizures

Hi Littlefoot (what a cute name) That sounds very similar to what happened to dorothy around the same age! It is so distressing for you to see, but the vet told me they do not know anything about it at the time of it happening. She grew out of them when fully mature (as my vet predicted) but she did...

Re: Seizures

Thank you. I found a vet who balanced the pros and cons to the medication and they decided it was better for her quality of life not to medicate, i am still glad i went with this decision as she was very happy and very alert, quick thinking with a sense of humour, the vets explained that she would l...

Re: my squirrel has turned savage

Hey! I think its important for anybody else getting the same difficulties as Dorothy suffered to read our story. The vet told me that the dramatic change in personality was due to the seizures she was having. According to the vet each one left some damage to her brain, this is probably what caused h...

Re: my squirrel has turned savage

Oh dorothy, bless her. she goes back into season very quickly, literally 6-8 weeks of being able to handle her (although she wont settle on me as she used to) she turns vicious again. Im starting to accept that she will always be this way and she will no longer be a cuddley pet, as i dont want to st...

She is being really friendly; very keen to take nuts from my hand, i havnt got her out of her cage yet as i am a little nervous because of her seizures in the past. She is still much larger,...

Hello guys, does anybody have some advice about what to do with my little dorothy? she came into her first full season in early feb (2009) during which time she was exteremly aggressive, with swollen nips. nest bed ideas-jeans!

I havn't got a great amount of experience with flyers, but i have found that my little munchkin is mad for her jeans...I hung a pair of old faded jeans by the button to the roof of her cage. I have bent one of the legs over a branch in her cage to create a ledge inside them. She uses all the pockets...

Re: Bloody Ear, Help.

patricia, i can really relate to the way you feel about wanting to look after the little darlings properly, its easy to blame yourself. my munchkin is suffering from seizures-very scary. as with the grey, it is well known that wild animals have an intution he or she is likely to have had a fault the...
