Re: Where have all the HOFS gone?

PLUS, for the first time ever, a 5 week old baby raccoon! That's all in addition to the usual bunch of flyers! Raccoons are absolutely adorable and sweet as can be, and I hope I never get in another one! My girlfriends family had a raccoon once! They have all these home movies of him riding the dog...

Re: Where have all the HOFS gone?

My friend called me up with an orphaned baby grey two weeks ago. He was hypothermic, and he's still pretty needy.
Between him and college, its been tough to find time post!
Im still checking in pretty frequently though!

Seperation Anxiety?

Gandalf has been great! Except, when Im away from the cage for an hour or so he starts squeeking and bouncing all over the place. I'm generally giving him upwards of three 45-60 minute play sessions a day, so i dont think it's because hes getting restless. And his diet is back on track now that I go...

Squirrel Foods

So the eastern grey I adopted is doing great, and he has a name now! Gandalf the Eastern Grey is what he goes by. Gandy or Greyhame for short. He wasnt weaned when we found him, and had a real hard time with solid foods, but his poops got a little softer and I realized it was time to start weaning h...

*sigh* So, Im stupid, and this little baby squirrel was trying to tell me all along he needed to be warmer, swhy he was crawling under my shirt and trying to sleep in my armpits, and why he was chirping last night in my chilly room. ::Edit:: Update: this little guy is already looking so much better ...

Now I am a worried. It's noon and he's still acting really tired. His eyes arent open all the way and he's sneezing. Hes not crawling all over me like he was last night, or sleeping in a ball. Hes sleeping kind of more sprawled out. He only would take 5cc of Esbalic. Not sure what to do. Someone ple...

Re: Baby Gray acting Lethargic

In addition, he seems a little shaky when he's set down on a table or a sold surface, and his eyes arent opening all the way. Again it's pretty early in the day and he had a late night. He also seems to be sneezing again. And when i gave him an eyedropper and a half of water, he burped some of it up...

Baby Gray acting Lethargic

So the orphaned baby gray I brought home last night is acting pretty lethargic. Which could very well just be because he was up late last night exploring my shirt, and keeping me awake, but im a little worried. How much sleep do they generally need? It's a little odd, because he was incredibly energ...

He chirps loud enough to wake the neighbors cats if I dont let him sleep in my shirt. And Im not exactly comfortable with that, i might crush him!

So uh. I may or may not be harboring an orphaned baby grey in my house without the parents permission. If I did have a squirrel in my house, it would seem like it was old enough eat solids (it would seem to like them also). But It would also suckle on my finger alot like it was looking for a tit, an...

Keystone Exotics?

In my search for a local breeder, I ran into Mike of Keystone Exotics PA, and it looks like he is the closest breeder to me. Mike certainly seems like a good guy, and very forthright, but Im wondering if anyone has any cautionary tales for me? If anyone knows of any other Breeders in my general area...

Re: Come August

Here in New York the summers arent much hotter than yours. Our old place didnt have AC and we where still able to keep the house a pretty comfortable 65-70 degrees. I also know there is at least one Northern owner in the north east, so I doubt it will be too much of a problem.

I think you mean Reed Diffusers Travis,
They're great for people with asthma as well, because they use natural reeds to suck up sented oils, which diffuse into the air through the reeds.
No aerosols or smoke. COOL STUFF.
