Re: Trying to set the "squirrel mood"

And that's fine and dandy, but what you said is that I am slowly killing my squirrels.

Re: Trying to set the "squirrel mood"

I'm pretty sure they're getting the right nutrients... I give them meal-worms as a treat almost every day, and I dust their food with D3 on a semi-regular basis. Additionally, they do get broccoli scraps and other food like that occasionally. I just guesstimated at the cage size because I'm not at h...

Trying to set the "squirrel mood"

Alright so I've got two squirrels, Female is about 1-1/2 years old, male is almost a year. They live in a 1-1/2' x 1' x 2-1/2' wire cage. They've got a cloth tube, a cloth cube, and a "hammock". I feed them seed mix (corn and sunflower with peanuts) primarily, with occasional "dusted&...

Re: squirrels in the dark

Yup, but I've been experimenting with leaving it on/leaving it off because it seems like they spend the entire day in their sleeping pouches. Also, I was wondering if it's alright to have them in almost pitch dark at night time, or if I needed to get a lower powered nightlight or something else. I c...

squirrels in the dark

I've had Chaquita and Icarus for nearly a year now, and they've been extremely happy the whole time. Recently I moved into a new apartment, and the only place I've been able to relocate them is into a closet space. I'm wondering if ya'll thought it would be unhealthy to have my squirrels in the clos...

so my new squirrels get along great... maybe too great

I've had these two little guys for about a month now... Icarus (male) and Chiquita (female) have adapted excellently to my life, and seem to enjoy theirs greatly. Problem is he humps her, a lot. I'm excited to have babies in the future, but is this acceptable behavior at their ages? ( 10 and 12 weeks)

Re: Fliers at college

When I went to college me and my roomate were seriously considering getting a sugar glider. In retrospect I'm glad I didn't. #1 problem is going to be your dorms restrictions. If they're like 90% of dorms, they won't allow pets, candles, or even toasters. If I were you, I'd wait it out for a minute ...

prospective owner, got a couple questions

Hey ya'll, So I've recently become extremely fascinated with these romantic little rodents. I'm pretty sure I'm ready to commit to getting one, providing for it, and inevitably falling in love with him/her. I've found this website to be the best resource possible for a prospective owner, in fact I s...
