Re: Peanut 8 yrs Problem child now

Hi Sandy, (do I have the right name?) I think having 2 cages is better then having them taken to a Vet to get "fixed". They are so tiny and fragile. I am committed to doing my best with these little ones but I must admit, sometimes they do cause more extra work.. I need to buy another show...

Re: Peanut 8 yrs Problem child now

Yes I do keep them in separate cages. I do not want any babies. I also never took them out together. I was not sure how an adult FS would be after they matured. Now 5 years later I am glad I made the right decision for me.(My brother gave me his girl who was a serious biter.) I got her when she was ...

Re: Peanut 8 yrs Problem child now

Thanks for the help on squirt bottle. Why did I forget that of all things? I use a squirt bottle if my dog acts up which is very rare. I can not get him out of the cage because of his problem attitude. He would get down my shirt and like always but then really started biting. I think he would win an...

Peanut 8 yrs Problem child now

Hi, It has been a very long time since I posted. I have a male 8 yr old FS that I got from a breeder since he was 5 weeks old and for the last 3 or 4 months he has been a nightmare to even get near his cage. Also feeding is extremely hard and he is always doing the War Dance and wanting to bite me. ...

I'd save then for myself! I don't give them to my flyers because they are not a native nut and they are expensive, but don't know if they are harmful. Thanks Joan, I really don't care for them and thought the flyers and day grey squirrels (who eats the flyers left overs in the jar), would...

Sorry, I am a little confused about these nuts. Is it ok to give them to our FS? My nephew gave me a bag of them and I have had them for a short while not knowing for sure. I gave some to my outside wildones tonight. I sure hope it is ok. I am getting very low on nuts about not. Prices went up a lot...

Friendships between FS and Dog?

I have a FS, Peanut who is 6 years old now and I have a golden retriever female dog who is 1 1/2 years old. I have been giving Peanut new fleece bedding strips for his nest box so he is nice a cozy before winter hits us soon. I have noticed in the last week or more that Peanut is giving and sharing ...

That did look nice but I would not use Varnish as a sealer..

I want to replace a new cage for my little girl, Muffin, this summer. I will just get another wire cage with no wood on it. Peanut's cage is still in good shape.
Good Luck in your search.

Do you wash/rinse them like maybe in a colander before you freeze them? Do you freeze them in freezer ziploc bags or ziploc boxes? I have both white oak and red oak trees around me. The red oaks most of the acorns are pretty small and green are those okay to store/freeze now or should I give them a...

Bird gravel paper is like sand paper but safe for birds. (Sand paper is not safe because of the glue they use to glue the sand particles to it). I would get a rash when Peanut would be climbing arond in my shirt, from his nails.
To fix that problem, I put bird gravel paper under his food dish to help file them and it helped reduce the rash break out.

I am proud to say that my little Muffin has let me feed her unshelled walnuts through her cage and has been very gentle in taking them, for two days now. How I wished this would last but its almost time for the next hormone season. I will keep my fingers crossed that her new attitude will last.

You won't see him while he is still this small. Bunnies can eat almost anywhere, since they eat grass and other vegetation, so he can stick to long grass and heavy brush to hide until he is more mature. The cat-caught ones need medication immediately, but can be fixed up and turned loose quite ofte...
