Re: Play Behavior aggressive at times and confusing

They do have energy. I call them Jack Russells on cafiene. They reach adult size fast but bulk up later. The two of you are getting to know each other better and this will continue. These little furballs are very smart.

I used a Wodent wheel before I got the Stealth and modified it: http://nfsa.us/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=5099&p=49570&hilit=gutter#p49570. Really any safe rodent wheel will do until you can get what you want permanently. If you can flyer proof one room and play with him there it might help. W...

If you are still interested in releasing him, contact a rehabber in your area and they can do that. Flyers are considered "adult" at 8 weeks and are on their own

The thing about flyers is their instinct for what is OK ... except for sweets :hkiss: I would drag all kinds of things in from the woods and mine would eat it or ignore it

Answer is "Tough Love". Put what you want him to have (and nothing else) in the cage and remove it in the morning. Never known one to starve himself, but they can get very "picky". :evilbat:

I have follow much of Beacon's life here. I know how you feel ... just as I do about Chuck. It's exceptional that they lived as long as they did and grew to have diseases of old age. Given they are lucky to make 5 years in the wild, I'd say our boys got many extra years of love. :angel13:

="Sreisig1"... Also, do you still recommend just getting 1 squirrel so it bonds properly, and then add another a year later if need be?

Yes as two will bond to each other. My second one bonded to Chuck more than me, but he remained strongly bonded to me. I got the second a year later.

I used rat or Macaw food as a basic with fresh food daily. Chuck also like a woodpecker block I got at Walmart. Make sure you check the ingredients for supplements so you are bot adding them if they already exist. I quite additional supplements years ago and Chuck lived to 15.

It's good to get this feedback and it was smart to remove the wheel as it gave her a rest that a smaller cage would. Their ability to heal is amazing. Even broken legs or amputated ones don't slow them down once they are healed. :multi:
