Re: Samson Sudden Death

I double bagged him and he is in the freezer. If I don't hear anything about necropsy I will ask my vet if he can do it. I'm devastated. There is no good reason for him to have died.

That's a good idea! I also made a cover for my previous cages...or put cardboard on the outside of my home made ones. ... Ok, so took a stool sample.... He noticed it was quite hard (she didn't have the diarrhea anymore) which her poop has always been "off" in one way or another The droppings do turn hard as pebbles when dry. If the stool seems to come out too hard, a little bit of pear will soften it. ....

Oh bless her heart that poor girl! Sounds like she's been through so much! well, Delilah has had all sorts of issues since we took her in. She was on some "exotic nutrition squirrel diet" which consisted of pellets, nuts and fruit. She was raised by the lady on cat milk and then goat milk (though not sure how long she was on goat milk). So since then she has been...

It could definitely be what Joan said about certain scents they dont like and therefore csnt recognize you over. I know with humans and dogs for example, the smell of coffee beans can cover up scents or reset your scent receptors (which is why they have coffee beans in yankee scented candle stores)....
