Possible Rehabbing

I'm considering becoming a rehabber (Space Coast of Florida).

Any advice from the experienced? Should I contact tree trimming companies, veterinarians, and other businesses?

I know I need to stock-up on cages and other supplies.

Thanks!

Heartbroken

Came home yesterday from a business/leisure trip and found my 4 males dead in their cage. R.I.P. Lukas, Hickory, Jib, and Yuki. Husband didn't realize that he needed to check them for food and water everyday. : ( Fortunately my 3 girls are okay. I just hope they did not suffer.

RIP George

We lost George a few weeks ago. I came home from work and was bringing in the dinner buffet and found her outside the nest box. I had checked on them earlier that morning to make sure they had water. She was our first flyer and was the one that my daughter Kimberly rescued from a neighbor's cat at m...

The Girls Have a Night on the Town

My life is crazy right now (lost 4 employees so I've been working 70+ hour weeks). I worked the night audit one night last week and when I woke later that day, I went into my office to remove the dinner dishes from the previous night from the cages. The bottom door to the girls' cage was wide open. ...

Re: Spray Warning

If you're getting acorns from around malls or homes that use sprays, don't use them. The spray can be contained in the earth and then be soaked up into the tree's sap and passed on into the acorns or berries. Thanks. I was walking around the property at work the other day and there are thousands of...

That must have been what my daughters and I saw a number of years ago. We were driving down our road one afternoon and this large, black cat crossed the road and went into the woods. I heard more than the usual noise in my genealogy room (aka squirrel sanctuary) last night. Lots of squeaking and other noises like crashing sounds. I had all three babies out at once a little while ago and George was not happy. I put them all back (she practically grabbed them from me) and she proceeded to take them back into the nest. Queen Nefertiti is almost 5 months old. Her brothers have developed their baggage. She usually sleeps away from her father and brothers and probably needs to move out.
