ROFL!

Love it. You should see how much fluff my flyer fit into the pocket of a coat that was hanging in our closet (a lot.)

You are very welcome! It is what the community is here for :) I heard from a lady, Anne, that she emailed you yesterday, so let me know if she wasn't able to get in touch with you.

Oh yes, and post many pictures when you get a squirrel! =D>

Aw I'm so sorry :( I know there are a lot of flyer people in Florida, so when you are ready just let us know and I can work to get you hooked up with someone who can get you a flyer.

It was very kind of you to provide the little squirrel a nice home while she was here.

Re: Dropping weight

I think if you ever start to get worried too much, try feeding her some avocado. I believe it is supposed to be fatty (the good kind of fats!) and caloric. I feed it to Momo almost every day and it makes her fur nice and shiny, and she loves it.

I'm no expert but I think it'd be a good idea to take him to a vet, at least so you can get xrays to see what is going on. What kind of a wheel do you have? I know certain kinds (that have bars across the front) can cause injuries like that. Or he could have just fallen and hurt himself... I'm not s...

Momo has been peeping and cheeping like crazy for a couple of days. She has taken to doing this weird thing where, when you give ...

Remove everything and only feed a variety of veggies - they won't starve themselves and they will eat them eventually :)

Give them the other stuff again once they are on the veggies.

Also make sure they are getting protein and yogurt daily :)

Please don't be offended - I don't think tone comes across right online or in e-mails - it's just if you don't let people know exactly how important nutrition is, they may not realize how important it is to get nutrition right, or exactly what that entails with flyers. They are pretty specialized li...

Re: Trying to set the "squirrel mood"

It is true - if they don't get the proper diet (like Joan and I both said) they will become malnourished and can die. I didn't want to scare or offend you but I do want you to realize that a diet change needs to be made. There are a lot of people who have fed similar diets who then go on to have squ...

You need to change several things, or else they will get very sick. 1) Diet - they need the following things DAILY: Every day they need : -Veggies -Mushrooms (yes, a mushroom piece a day. They have the proper nutrients) -Yogurt (mixed with Fox Valley) -Protein (bugs, chicken, eggs are all good prote...

Aw that is so heartbreaking - I am sorry. At least you have closure. As far as the other one goes, flyers can do just fine on their own. Unless it seems like she is pining, I don't think having a playmate is necessary. And do, please, always keep her separated from the dogs. Having them out together...

Update for anyone who has been following this (Hi Anne!) I tried some of the infant Benadryl - I'm not sure if it really helped or not. The arm looks about the same. Lol! I said I wish there had been a third person there to videotape. Arm Chewing! Help! I am out of ideas!

So here is the issue. For the last 6-8 months or so, Momo has had an arm chewing problem. She has a "hot spot" on her left arm that she randomly will pull the hair out of. She will let it grow for a few weeks, then randomly one day we will get her out of the cage and all the hair will be g...

Hey Lace!

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I wouldn't use the dryer lint. Dryer sheets can have all sorts of weird chemicals on them, and I'm not sure what exposure to them would do to animals that small. I am a bit of a hippie, but I just try to keep chemical exposure down as much as possible.
