Game Breeder's permit (A nice loophole for squirrel owners)

Postby Azrail » Fri Mar 13, 2009 9:44 am

I have found a nice little loophole here in the state of IL.
It's called a Game Breeder's permit and it allows us to have SFS.

I suggest checking with your local Department of Resources to see if it allows the species your looking to get (or have).
I know many of us call the USDA BUT squirrels are wild animals and if they are native to your state the Game Breeder's permit will most likely allow you to legally posses them. Or legally allow them to posses you.... which is usually the case.

Oh and the game breeder permit in IL. Allows you to own greys and fox squirrels as well. Go figure... turns out we where looking in the wrong place all along.
There is also something call a fur-bearers permit which allows foxes and other neat stuff.

Wow, this is great news!

I can see why nobody thought of it before, though--we sure don't want to shoot or wear out little buddies.

Thank You all so much!
I learned a lot more then I had known before just reading the boards, this place is a must have I wish I would found it sooner when I started studying them.
Hope to have this done in a day or two or how ever long the process may last and then I'm on to find a trusted breeder so if your one(anyone out there) and reading this I like to get to know you and I like you to get to know me and hope I could get put on a waiting list.

I repeat thank you all 100000000000000000000 times.
