Bonding with two pretty wild flyers!

Postby tommyfarr » Sun Dec 11, 2011 9:40 am

Hi! Got two flyers recently, both about 18 months old. The previous owner never handled them and they seem terrified of me . Always running away and even very reluctant to take pecans from me. Sometimes the one looks like he's shaking and sometimes it's like they both freeze. Just wondered what's the best approach for them. Should I try and bond to them separate? And is there any way to make them less scared? Cheers.

He's probably talking ultrasonically.

This is defensive

Yes, but at this age they are likely more bonded to each other than they will be to you.

Time and lots of patience, but don't expect a bonding you would get from a pup. If they learn to trust you, that is a gift.
