NFSA Board Netiquette

Postby Joan » Mon Feb 21, 2005 6:40 pm

The National Flying Squirrel Association is determined to provide a caring, family environment for all our Board members. We have children on the board, so please:

Be polite and courteous at ALL times. If you cannot be polite, don't say anything.

No Flaming (posting nasty or insulting messages). If you are in a forum and flaming starts -NO MATTER WHO STARTED IT- leave it alone and walk away. Staying out of another's argument is the first step to stopping it.

Handle personal problems privately, through PM or e-mail

Ads and all links, including those in a signature, must be approved by Admin. Any links that do not meet the standards of the NFSA, and its ideals will be removed.

Do not post names, phone numbers or addresses in the public forum.

Contact a Moderator or Administrator if you have problems with the Board, a member or you do not understand something.

All Board Members agreed to be bound by the conditions below when they registered.

"By entering the NFSA Message Board, you are agreeing to follow the Board rules. Any infraction of the rules may result in immediate revocation of Board privileges.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any
abusive,
obscene,
vulgar,
slanderous,
hateful,
threatening,
sexually-oriented
or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.

Doing so may lead to your being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

This forum system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one). "

Moderators' Duties/Guidelines:

When tempers flair, and it DOES happen when people feel strongly about a subject, a Moderator may issue a warning (see below) and won't hesitate to lock or delete a post if it continues. Sometimes a person will start a new topic about the same thing and they will just lock. edit or delete it. That is when the offender will be warned that if it continues, they will be banned. If a person is constantly causing trouble, if someone is using the forum to rip people off, if a person is using the email addresses for spam, an administrator will ban them permanently.

Moderator Responses:
I'm going to leave this string open as long as all posters remain civil.

This topic is getting out of hand. Please take this discussion to private email or PM. If not, this topic will be locked or deleted.
