Building a Cage

Postby odyssey609 » Sun Jul 06, 2008 5:08 pm

I was planning on building a cage for a future flyer sometime soon, and I was wondering if there is a certain place I should look for a plastic tray to put underneath it. Also, is there a certain type of wire that I should make the sides of the cage with?

Thanks

If you are going to build it yourself, I recommend a solid floor with a 1 inch lip around it to hold contents inside. It's easily shop-vaced out and I love mine compared to mesh flooring. You can also cover the floor in baking soda or Borax powder.I vac mine out when the soda is covered by nut shells and trash

I made Pika's cage round out of half inch by half inch hardware cloth/wire mesh. I used a plastic water heater drop pan from ACE Hardware, 2ft in diameter.

I've been debating on making my own cage as well, so it can be as big as I'd like and hopefully cheaper! lol

Perhaps yall could post pictures of your DIY cages? That would be awesome.

EDIT:: I just found the topic for pictures :p
