Frontline Warning

Postby Joan » Sat Sep 02, 2006 2:23 pm

Dr. Cooley states, "Frontline can be lethal for rabbits and has been implicated in many rabbit deaths due to neurological side effects including seizures. Many grown flyers weigh only about 50 grams. Therefore, any absorption goes into a small body. The differences in absorption of the product are crucial. Skin absorption does not occur in the formulated pet product in the dog or cat, but it does occur in the rabbit."
Therefore, we caution HOFs NOT to use this product on their flyers.

"A lot of people spend time talking to the Animals, but not that many people listen. That's the real problem! ... Winnie the Pooh

Thank you for posting this Joan. It gives me the closure that I needed. As prior it was a suspicion now it seems to be more of a fact. What a darn shame. This leaves me with the feelings of regret and guilt but also a strong dose of relief as I finally know what I did wrong. This messageboard is the best one on the net. Thanks to everyone who runs it and contributes information.

Ok, now I feel like a fool. I just reviewed the Necropsy report as I haven't read it in a while and saw this information stemmed from that report. I had forgotten that he stated it caused seizures in rabbits. I thought the seizure part was a new development.
