Editor of the NFSA Newsletter

Postby Joan » Sun Nov 25, 2007 1:48 pm

If anyone is interested in taking over as Editor of the NFSA Newsletter, let me know. Katie will be happy to serve as consultant.

Not that I'm volunteering, but I just wanted to ask a couple of questions.

How many times a year is it published?

Is there a position available for assistant editor perhaps? I'm still new here and would feel really really weird stepping into the position.

Oh that's just wrong.

I have held an Editor position a few times. Once for the South Mississippi Herpetological Society (many many moons ago) and as Prose editor for the Phoenix (high school/creative writing.) I would imagine that if no one stepped up that I could be coerced into helping. What do you think about a seasonal newsletter? Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter?

Bev, I'll contact you and put you in touch with the former editor so hopefully she can share past newsletters. The editor runs the show however they wish. :D

:multi: congratulations Bev. So glad to have you as the new editor. Good Luck and please help spread the word about the NFSA conf to be held in Alabama the last weekend of Feb. 2010. Place Days Inn Looking for a large crowd so come on people and start making reservations . WE HAVE BEEN WORKING HARD TO HAVE GREAT SPEAKERS AND TO MEET NEW AND SEE OLD FRIENDS AGAIN. Great things on the silent auction table and lots of things on the take if you would like. Also great things in the regester bags including your very own t shirts or sweat shirt or "golf shirt that you have ordered from me. Will have pictures of shirts out I hope by the end of this week for every one to see.
Hope you can also attend also.

I hope to have something notable whipped together before the conference so I'll be sure to really sell the conference. :)

Ooooh... and then after the conference there will be lots of conference pictures...

Now for the speech, "I hope to do you guys proud and will do my absolute best on this endeavor."

And now for the enticing... "Please send me your news, stories, tidbits, and pics for the Newsletter!!"

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I have an update on how things are progressing with the newsletter.

You might remember that I just got a brand new (refurbished) laptop and I have been diligently working away. I've finished the template and got a couple of articles ready and then... the new laptop died. (And no, I didn't punch this one)

I contacted the Dell last night and they're sending me out a rush return box. I should be back in business in about two weeks. I just hope they can save my work because... the only place it exists is on that hard drive. Ack! I was hoping to upload it by January 1 because I did a nice write up promoting the conference...

Hang in there guys... I'm working on it!!
