looking for the right water bottle

Postby toiveajattelu » Sun Nov 30, 2008 3:26 pm

I got Best-Friend a water bottle without a ball in the tip...it's the type that dispenses water when it is jiggled, and it said it was suitable for small rodents but Best-Friend can't really seem to jiggle it enough while drinking to get water to come out. It is NOT the kind that looks like a test tube with a glass tip, which is what I wanted but couldn't find. It is plastic with a metal tip that has a hole in it. I don't think it's working, so I want to buy a different kind, but my pet store only carries bottles with balls. Can someone link me to a suitable bottle online? I've been looking at 4littlepets.com but the pictures of the products are so tiny that I can't tell if any of them are the right kind.

you can use a small bowl and put water in it. But I have always used the glass tubes with the plactic spout that you get in the pet scection of wal mart . They say it is for water or seeds for birds. Ours love it and the babies wont drown . Good luck

This is the one that Teddy has. He has no problems drinking from it. I found it locally at Petsupermarket. Petco & PetSmart did not have it.

Good luck!

We tried bottle/tubes and bowls with Barnie, and her personal preference is the bowl of water, because she enjoys dunking her food. We may have to go back to the water bottle/tube with Jimmy, though, because he has a habit of galloping right through the bowl of water when he's doing laps.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Best-Friend is finally set up with two squirrel-friendly water sources.
