Honeysuckle

Postby pattis » Mon Apr 28, 2014 5:28 pm

Brought my little dude some honeysuckle that I saw growing along the bike trail we ride. He loves that stuff!... and it smells so nice! I only gave him one sprig. I never give him a lot of any one thing. Rowdy recommends it, if you've never tried it!

Of course the second time I gave him some, he threw it on the floor. Really Rowdy? I put half an ear of corn on the cob in there last night.
We made him a new toy and he's already been chewing on it. He's so cool! Maybe I'll get a picture of it.
Wondering something....
Does acorns make their pee dark? Like tea colored? Once in a while I will see dark spots in his bedding and I think it's when I give him acorns.

I've never seen that with acorns, but Daisy's would every time I gave her peanut butter. I would give her a little cranberry juice and it would clear right up.

Yes, it's the tannins in the acorns that do this. Otherwise their pee is clear. Those tannins will stain clothes too, unlike the clear pee.

Yes. I've noticed the crochet basket I made for him is stained and won't come clean. Oh well... Crochet and nibblers don't go together to well anyway. Do you give yours acorns anyway? He does love them!

Yes, I gather them in the fall and freeze bags of them.
