I want to know how you made them blink in your avatar
I use Paint Shop Pro to edit the pictures and its Animation Shop to animate them...
If you're not that used to using layers yet, then the easiest method would be to resize your picture you want to make blink to 80 pixels square (avatar size) and sharpen it back to normal. Now copy this picture and paste it twice so you now have 3 exact pictures to work with. With these three, you will have to hand draw the eyes closing. You will need one picture with eyes opened, one half-way closed, and one all the way closed. Save each of these pictures seperately to your hard drive.
If you don't mind layers, then you can try this method:
First you'll need 3 pictures: One with eyes opened (this is the main pic you want to animate), one half-way closed, and the last one all the way closed of your flyer. Open the three pictures into your editing program promote them all to layers. Leave the main pic with the eyes open alone... this will be the pic you'll animate with the other two.
On the other two pics, erase everything but the eyes & their surrounding fur... when erased, the background should be invisible. Now make the main pic your bottom layer and copy & paste the eye pictures on top of the main pic as new layers. Now just stretch/resize the eyes to fit perfectly over the main pic's eyes and edit them to blend into the main picture (soften/ 50% opacity erasing). You will need one picture with eyes opened, one half-way closed, and one all the way closed. Resize these pics to avatar size (80 pixels square) and sharpen. Save each of these pictures seperately to your hard drive.
Now go into the animation program and place these three pics into your animation in order of: eyes opened first... half-way, 2nd... and closed, 3rd. Set the opened eyes to about 400 seconds, and the last two at about 20 seconds time. Now save the animation and optimize the final file to be under 6 kb for an avatar (by bringing down the colors & quality). Now test it out to make sure it works and you're done
Hopes this helps a little
