Need to loose weight

Postby SomethingToBelieveIn » Sun Aug 03, 2008 7:34 pm

I posted a bit about my new flying squirrel rescue in the intro section. She is significantly overweight and dealing with many large fatty deposits. SOOOO - she needs to loose weight.

I could use suggestions on helping her loose weight. Also, how much weight can she loose HEALTHILY in one week?

THANKS!

Normal weight in a wild flyer is about 2 oz. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4621&hilit=Risch Our furballs tend to be larger. I have no idea how is healthy to loose in one week. How much does she weigh? If she'll run on the wheel, she'll lose. I'd cut back on nuts (hugh fat) and anything with sugar ... natural or not.

What is she eating? I agree with Joan, you'll need to cut back on some foods.
I was giving my flyers sweeet potato everyday and they gained weight from that. I stopped giving it to them and they slimmed down.

my batman had a huge sweet tooth and was definitely over weight. she wouldn't eat her vegetables, and only ate nuts. some nights i would take away her nuts and her staple diet (since she just ate the seeds and nuts out of that), and would only give her vegetables.
