Bonding pouches and harnesses???
So I have a few questions. In preparation for becoming a furball mommy I want to get everyone's input. I might become a mom sooner than expected.
First, where do you guys buy your bonding pouches? If you order them offline can someone post a link? what are important things to look for in a bonding pouch? How big are they normally? What do they look like?
Second, I've seen pictures of squirrels in harnesses. Usually outside so they don't get away. I want to get one so I can easily take my lil one outside too. What is a good size for the harness. And does anyone know where I can buy one?
Thanks ahead of time!

I don't use a bonding pouch. I just put Bullet in my shirt and he usually curls up in my bra. I've done that with him since he wa a baby so he is used to it.
I don't use a harness and I have never known anyone who does. I thingk Bullet would go bonkers if I put a harness on him. If you are well bonded to your flyer, he will see you as his safe place and stay on you. I do carry a zippered pouch or a small cage with me when I have him out just in case it gets dark before I return home. You never can tell when you will have car trouble or something and be out later than you planned.

I think the skin to skin contact with shirt bonding helps the bonding process. Flyer pups are happy to sleep in the hammock of a tucked in shirt. They can move around, peek "Kilroy" style out the neck to see what's going on and learn their HOF is their favorite tree. Harnesses and leashes are definitely not for flyers.

The best bonding pouch I have found is at http://gliderconnection.com/glider/prod ... ucts_id=36.
I like it because it has a window so flyers can see out and get get some air. It is fleece and very soft with sturdy straps.
Shirt carrying is best but if you need security to prevent escape the bonding pouch is good for those instances.
Harnesses..
The flyers fur is so silky they tend to slip right out of them within time.
The one from the glider connection is the only one that is not an 8 harness which can choke them. I haven't tried it yet but I have tried three already and Piper can eventually slip out of all of them.
If you do find on that is good only use it for high level of loss pet situations as the leash string can always loop around their neck as they are constantly climbing and turning. I wouldn't take my eyes off him not even to climb on my back with the harness because you can't see what is going on and he could get tangled or slip out.
Bonding pouch is best for travel protection along with a small cage.
I have a somewhat small 3 story hamster cage that was 29 dollars and light. It has two ladders in it and a wheel. I use that if I bring him to a realitives house. Fits in the car seat. Gives him things to play with.

Glider Day dreams is a great place, I also sell a pouch that is alot like the zippered pouch linked above - but it's a drawstring, I've known some sugar gliders which can actually open the sippers from the inside of the pouch, I have no idea if flyers do the same thing or not - but I just make drawstrings cause nothin's getting out of those! Mine have the little window across the frount aswell - but are only $12 instead of $18.
