Weaning

Postby Achmed's Mom » Sun Aug 11, 2013 11:54 am

Our NSF is about 8wks old now. We found him when he was approximately 1wk. Not sure when or how to start the weaning process. We have been offering solid foods for a few weeks now. I have given him broccoli, green beans, lettuce, zucchini, apricot, blueberries, and pecans. He will only slightly nibble on the pecans and the fruit. About 3 days ago, he started refusing his "bottle". Now we but his formula in a soda bottle cap and let him lap up 1cc at a time. When should we stop the formula? Should we go to a complete feed and just supplement with the veggies? He has a cuddle bone, an antler, and a salt wheel, does he need a calcium supplement too? Things seemed a bit easier when we knew exactly how much formula to feed him when!
Thanks :n00b:

Give it to him as long as he'll take it ... it's good for him. He'll wean himself.
