Well, she's certainly not a wild woman yet! She is very subdued tonight. Definately not her wild self! She seems to have a little bump on her head above one of her eyes. She is in a shallow 20 gallon aquarium where she can't climb and fall again. There are a couple pouches in there, and she slowly c...

She ate a little bit last night. We took her out this morning to check on her and we don't see anything swollen. She crawled around a little, trying to get back into her pouch. I think the biggest question now is when do we put her back into the big cage, or let her out in the room again. I don't kn...

We're approaching 2 hours now. She's still laying in her pouch with her head at the top, but she hasn't come out or moved around anymore. We weighed her in the pouch, then put it in the small tank. She usually sleeps in her pouch, so she should be as comfortable as possible there. She's not moving o...

Thanks, Deb. It's been a little over an hour now. She has been laying on my husbands chest, cradled in his hand. She started moving her head and front paws a little about 1/2 an hour ago. Her pouch was next to her and she crawled into it a few minutes ago. She's sitting at the top of the pouch looki...

What is wrong with her?

A few minutes ago, my sfs was playing in our study. She tried to jump, and fell like she has done a hundred times before. This time when she hit the floor, (carpeted), she didn't move. She layed motionless on her side, with her lets outstretched. The only way we can tell she's alive is she is breath...

Deb, I am so sorry to read about Tiny Tim. I remember reading your stories about him and it was clear you were so proud of him and cared very much for him. He was lucky to have the time with you that he had. Sadly, accidents do happen, no matter how careful we try to be. My thoughts are with you dur...

After spending $300 on toys and pouches, I discovered that my flyers favorite toys and sleeping areas were free. I cut the sleeves off of a sweatshirt and hung them on the wooden perches. In another cage, I hung a small t-shirt over a rope. As long as they have cotton balls or shredded kleene...

Nail-o-matic?

Has anyone used the nail-o-matic from Suncoast Sugar Gliders with their sfs? I just ordered the big hexagon cage from them, and they sell a nail trimmer that goes in the Wodent wheel. It trims nails while they run. One of my furballs, Venus, loves to sit on our heads. That wouldn't be a problem exce...

I'm glad he's safe! When I got a HQ cage a few month ago, there was a gap that ran all the way from the top to the bottom that was well over 1/2 inch. They sent a plastic mesh strip and some small zip ties along with the cage to cover the gap. It looks tacky, but it works. The plastic is about 1 1/2...

Thank you both for your input. Deb, did you buy your cage from Suncoast, or some other place? How many doors does your hexagon cage have, and how large are they? I'm confused by the descriptions at the different on-line sites. birdscomfort.com and windycityparrots.com have what looks to be the same ...

Hexagon Cage?

Has anyone had experience with the big HQ hexagon cage from Suncoast Sugar Gliders? (http://www.sugar-gliders.com) There are other versions of that cage other places for half the price, but they look different and don't have the huge door on the front. The price of the one from Suncoast is $365 so I...

Are there behavior differences between a young squirrel and an adult that John could watch for? Like, how long does it take her to open an almond. Or nibbling on toes and fingers? Or, if they run in a wheel and how fast they can run in the wheel? One website said that it is difficult or impossible t...

The breeder is FJC, who posted that they have Northern flyer babies available. I got one reply from them.....enough to find out they don't ship. It's so hard to get a flyer in the west without shipping. Kiki posted in March that she was hoping to have Northern babies (in Washington) but I e-mailed h...

That looks like a nice cage, Lora. After you get it, please post how you like it. I need to get another one by the first part of July. I'm still leaning towards the hexagon one, but the one you chose looks like another really nice option. Please keep us updated on how you like it.

Christina, I'm sorry to hear you are under so much pressure, in addition to the pain. It is so stressful when you are hit from every angle: medical, financial, job stress, etc. If you feel your job is in jeopardy, I would encourage you to talk to your HR Dept or your attorney. There are many laws th...

Michigan to the Northwest?

Are there any wannabe HOF's in the Pacific Northwest that would like to help figure out how to get some Northern FS out west? I can travel through a couple of states, but that is still a long way from Michigan. The breeder in Michigan doesn't ship, so I'm trying to find a way to make this work. Any ...

Hi Lora, Just to complicate your decision, have you seen the big hexigon cage at birdcomfort.com? A better picture and description of the cage is at Suncoast Sugar Gliders. (At least I *think* those two are the same cage, but it is a lot cheaper at birdcomfort, although their shipping is a lot highe...
