I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Once these little furballs have nested in your heart, they occupy it forever.

Re: First Steps?

I too bought a FS from Mike. His name is Gizmo. I have had no problems with him at all. He ate from my hand almost right away after getting him home. From there on, I just let him set the pace. He does not like the bonding pouch at all. I just let him out and let him run on me and all over the room...

Re: New Member #251

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! For nearly 3 weeks after her passing, Ambush's daughters remained in seclusion and refused all offers of snuggles, doubling my heartbreak. However, I am pleased to report that the girls abruptly declared their mourning period over, and I've been a favorite clim...

Re: First Steps?

If you are patient, and allow your flyer to get to know you at his own pace, he will bond with you. When I first adopted mine (from a woman who had to move into an apartment that didn’t allow pets), they were already a year into adulthood and wouldn’t even come out of their wooden nest box if a huma...

Re: I think my old girl has MBD...

My beloved Ambush passed away in the wee hours of the morning. Right up until the end she wanted to be held - if I tried to put her in the little rehab cage to rest she would hang weakly from the bars and glare at me until I let her crawl into my shirt again. I taught that evening with her inside my...

Re: I think my old girl has MBD...

Vet says it doesn't look good. He doesn't think she has MBD -- hes feels a stroke, tumor or something similar is more likely. Blood tests and xrays might give him a better idea, but he said in order to get enough blood from her, he'd have to anethesize her -- and even then he said it was difficult t...

I think my old girl has MBD...

Just two days before, she was hanging batlike from the top of her cage with her daughters (who are on the same diet, get the same suppliments, and have the same free access to cuttlebones, blocks, etc.). Now she is listless and awkward. Finally got an appointment with a small animal specialist that ...
