There are those who have the knowledge and the skills to create miracles for God's little creatures, but the really successful rehabber has to have the heart part; Tom, you have all three. Congratulations!
Rhapsody, they are absolutely beautiful! Do you plan to keep them or release them when they are old enough (18 - 20 weeks)?? You are very brave to take them out; you must live in a very quiet area where nothing could "spook" them! You've done a great job from the looks of them!
Wanda, I am so very sorry about Peanut; the loss of two in such a short time must be almost unbearable for you, but my prayers are for you to find comfort in your memories, for those shall always be with you. And one day, we will join those pieces of our heart that wait at the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs.....

I'm so sorry, Tom; when I first saw his picture I immediately fell in love--these critters are VERY SPECIAL! And any one that we lose--well, our head knows the risks but our heart breaks anyway.

Auz, I am so sorry about your precious Triscuit; you will always keep her close in your heart. Her life may have been short, but its quality and beauty will forever be in your memories. Just spoil Jack rotten--it will help both of you.
Oh, Deb, your pain is shared by many of us and I shall pray that you will soon be able to be at peace. Do not beat yourself up (spoken to you by the Queen of Beat--Up); use those emotions instead to tell your baby how special he was to you, how empty one little corner of your heart will always be, a...
Just finished a phone conversation with Ags; she sounds well and says she is not in too much pain but is definitely "down for the count" for at least six weeks. She has a cast on each leg; on the right foot, it goes up to her knee--and in addition to the break, she had a very deep cut. The...
Agnes's daughter Krystina emailed to say that Agnes has fallen and broken both her right ankle and her left foot. She will not be able to negotiate the stairs for many weeks. Many of you know of Agnes so I thought you would want to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I am glad her daughter is th...
So sorry to hear about Neut, Tom; and prayers are already on the way for him. You are such a miracle worker with animals and have such a bond with Neut so I know he will have all the care, attention, and love he needs, and that will give him the edge to make it through.
Tom has been struggling for several months now with medical issues, with several trips in and out of the hospital. Bless his heart--and wife Brenda's, too, for all they have had to go through. Being a "patient" patient is very hard for him, so any cards, calls, letters, emails would be mos...

How precious; and what a wonderful success story! I know you are feeling proud and happy and loving every minute of it! Yep, they ALL love to "do your nails"; I think it is also showing affection when they groom us.

Agnes is my friend Cruella DeVille and for a Yankee girl she is just wonderful!!! :D I was recently able to meet her in person (after several years on the boards) when she came to pick up her new squirrels. She's wise and witty and loves animals with all her heart; and she will fit right in with our...

I agree with Anita--give her LOTS of extra love and attention and try some "bathroom bonding" time with her--small space, no one there but you, and give her some special treats when she comes and responds nicely to being with you. Then, when you put her back in the cage/nest box, maybe a s...
I have bought cages for here and cages for NC from Martin's Cages, plus I've bought travel cages, too. I have been very pleased with them--quality of cages and quality of service has been excellent!

Oh lordy, you two; I WISH I could sneak out! But since DH saves most of his vacation days for June and July so that we can spend a big chunk of time in NC, I guess I'd best hang out with him some!!! LOL! Also, sneaking out behind me would be this long, long line: DH, oldest daughter, husband, two gr...

Uh-oh---the secret is out! Joan, now you KNOW why Tom has 48 Ninja Flying Squirrels in the Wild Bunch Cage--up quite a few from the starting figure! Zoe Warrior Princess has been acting as his consultant--for a fee, of course!
