Since bunnies need to injest their moms ceces (sp?) to prime their gi tract for proper digestion,6those taken away from mom will need help. Their life spans will be shortened by several years if they don't injest the proper bacteria from mim. So here is where yopu can get some: http://www.rabbitmart...

I had the same problem...A dog whistle works wonders.
Nugget would run to the whistle and bang on it with his hand.

Well, several months ago o got a house rabbit. i recall reding the Wild Bunch shares the lower level of rheir enclosure with gpigs...I suspected a bun would work in Nugget's cage...It's been great! No worries here. Each species has it's own myco (including us) A rat's version can't infect a squirrel and vica versa. As far as I could tell, there, was no exchange of anything between them. I think they are just too different to exchange anything ..And in captivity, the chances of them being exposed...

The Ratlist (one of the groups I'm on) worked with this company to redesign their Ferret Nation cages so they would work for rats, bunnies and other small mammals. I've kept domestic mice as pets since i was a kid and they never got mean as they got older. I've never heard of that ever happening. Yeah it's safe. It's hard to tell which it is as i have nothing to gage it's size with. It's either a mouse or it's a rattis rattis (black rat). I'm leaning towards r...

Yes,in the fur behind the ear..it's very dangerious if consumed in one fell swoop...This way it's gradually consumed as the animal cleans itself.
If your really paranoid, use a smaller amount and repeat as needed.

You don't have to worry about fighting. Both species were afraid of each other. I never put them together, but sometimes the Nug was out when the rats were out. if i was sitting with rats,he'd just stay away. Remember rats are omnivorous, like us,and do best on a low protein low carb diet. Mine got l...

The dose given of Ivermectin to rats is the size of a grain of rice and is placed behind one ear. I'd say half that or less for a sfs.

A friend of mine were discussing older members who own flying squirrels.
Say, I have a stroke, can no longer take care of Nugget, or am in a car accident, etc.
Does this board have steps to help re home a squirrel if said squirrel outlives it's owner?
