Re: shylo's leg... rash?

Hi Alyssa: I have not heard from you in a while. Put on gloves and hold Shylo in the position you need and massage that area with Neo Sporin, After a few days rub baby powder on that area, It may be a simple rash that she is irritating. Tom

Re: Clicking sound and feeding trouble

Assume that it is aspirated, Get a vet quick or get it to a rehabber that has access to the proper meds, there is no time for discussion. Tom

Re: HELP!-administering medication via syringe

LULU: The first thing to learn about flyers is that they will outsmart you every time, If your flyer needs medicine you need a pair of gloves, Hold he or she and take no nonsense from the little guy, Use the syringe tip and force it into the mouth and hold on until it is ingested, I don't know what ...

For Alyssa

Alyssa, The exposed bone will probably break off, It is not life threatening and it will bother her for a while, Keep it clean and if she licks the Neo Sporin it will not hurt her, She will probably be scared for a while but she will get over it, After the exposed bone dries up if it does not fall o...

Pinks

I have some sad news, Two of the pinks died around 12 hours apart, I have always been quick to tell of the successes and I have to be equally as fast to tell of my failures, My vet did an autopsy on the first to go and the results indicate that the death was my fault, I have always mixed a little ho...

MBD

I have to agree with Joan, I have seen many cases of what I thought was MBD, Some of them appeared out of nowhere and some seem to have been been reversed quickly and the squirrel seemed normal, I think that the calcium and vitimin D3 do more to help than anything else, Healthy animals need exercise...

Injury

Well you have your first lesson on flyers 101--"CATS AND FLYERS DO NOT MIX". Joan and Kay gave you the best advice, A suspected cat injury is nothing to fool around with so please contact your vet or a rehabber for an antibiotic, As Joan said I use Trimeth/ Sulfa and get excellent results....

Collars

Wynd I am not as tactful as the others, Please take the strings off of the babies, There are a dozen ways they can kill themselves with something around the neck, Joan has a great idea and also marking them with a dot on the head works for a temporary means of identification. Tom
