There are cut-rate pet stores in some malls that have cheaper cages. You may need to put twisty ties across spaces that might be a bit too large for a flyer. When Amanda was little she was able to slip out the space by the door of her travel cage, but she is now too big for her favorite escape spot....

Somehow started rewarding Amanda for going into her cage when she was very little. After we finish playing, she runs in and waits for her treat. If she decides to hide, I turn on the overhead florescent lights. She hates them and runs into the cage so I'll turn them off.

You may be extra sensitive. Jeff seems to have the same problem. He has to put on a long sleeve shirt before playing with Amanda. She has learned that she isn’t allowed inside of his shirt, but is in mine. I get scratches but not the rash.
