Don't be giving that baby a sodium-filled pickle, Michelle!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll get Laurie, we'll don some camo and come after you - I've got your address!!!
Oh, he looks beautiful, Crystal!! Look at that healthy, shiny coat! I can see you will be an excellent Squammy to Piper. I'm going to get some more pictures of her - she's growing fast. She is really, really pretty - still very different coloring. I am watching her fur develop with great interest! M...
Kathy will be receiving her new baby at the end of this month - boy, does Givens have a surprise coming!! He's gonna have a silly baby brother to deal with! How's THIS for a sweet face???? "I'm...." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squirrels/PA060070slsmall.jpg "...sleepy now." h...
Aww, Megan, thank you for your sweet comments. You have hit it right on the head for me (again, 'cuz you really did well on the smoking issue - you go, girl!). There is something...just not right - down deep in my gut, anyway...about MAKING money on animals. As Joan says, I will NEVER be out of the ...
Dad-Gum-It...(how's THAT for a guarantee I'm a Southern girl?) You'd think that with as many times as I post pictures with my horrendous nails showing I would get a blasted manicure, wouldn't you????? 'course, if I had time for a manicure, there'd be no reason to post pictures of my nails (holding b...
These girls are sisters to Rainy (who will soon be headed to her new Squammy, Darra). Windy and Stormy will be joining their new Squammy, Sandi, in a couple of weeks. Aren't they sweet???
Thanks so much, Irene - but, believe me, you would not call him rotten only because you have not met him!! I do so absolutely adore His Royal Rotteness, though, like I can't even describe. Last night (this morning) after feeding the orphan babies at about 3:00 a.m., I fell into bed and the little mo...
Here are some pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squirrels/fosterpup2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squirrels/fostergroup2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squirrels/fosterpup1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/...
Yes, pictures - I sure hope to be able to take some today....I've only managed a couple of shots and haven't even had time to download them from the camera. Things got worse as far as the sleep-deprivation. Ivy is now finished with motherhood for awhile. She had done SUCH a great job with the first ...
Those are Mishi's "birth" pups! Poor Ivy is the one who's confused as all get out - her babies keep getting smaller and varying in number. When I have time, I'll update on that situation.....my little rehab partner, Ivy, has been putting in almost as full a day as her Squammy. BUT - if more orphan p...
Mishi is the sweetest, most accommodating little squirrel mama - although she was not exactly thrilled with this latest photo session, and took the opportunity to give us a few choice squirrel words. Still, she posed for us for a few minutes. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squi...
Congrats, Wanda! I hope Shelly is truly pregnant - there is nothing so sweet as pups! As soon as I can turn loose of some of my storm rehab babies, I'll be posting some more pictures of Poison Ivy's birth pups and updating the foster pups story. Looking forward to your Baby News!
Okay - as soon as I figure out how to end the Poll for voting, I will - but for now, let's just say that "Ricky & Ripley - Ready to Ride" is the official winner of the August contest! Congrats, Darra, on a great pic and I will start the process for your personalized tile coaster. To all the othe...
Yes, Moca! The differences in color even among squirrels from the same geographic area are amazing. I have two boys in with three girls (normally) - one of the boys is what I call "blonde" as he is much more golden than the other "brunette" boy. And I have one girl who is even more "blonde" than the...
Oh, believe me - he is SO rotten! I'm crazy about him and we are sooooo bonded - but he is adamant about having his way and will stomp his feet all over the place and cuss up a blue streak if you try to prevent him from having his way!
I'm counting on her being like any other new mother - in about 4 weeks when she's good and fed up with it all, she'll be saying, "Take these kids - somebody, anybody, TAKE THESE KIDS!"

It is sad, indeed. Like California considering wide-spread poisoning of ground squirrels to control their numbers, but if you were found providing one with a loving and safe home, they'd find a special place for you under the jail. I understand the need for laws and that they are really meant to pro...
Two girls and a boy - Charlee I, Charlee II, and Charley.....they are 12 days old today and oh-sooooo-cuuuuute. Mishi made a deal with us - she said, "I'll let you take pictures of the kids if you hand over the bowl of waxworms." DEAL! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/hraea/Flying%20Squirrels/C...
"Flying squirrel? No, I don't have a flying squirrel, Mr. Freshwater-Fish-and-Game Officer. Pay no attention to that lump moving around inside my shirt...I have a condition...I...I...I'm seeing a doctor. Yeah, that's it, I'm being treated for a verrrrrry contagious illness - cough, cough - can I off...
Valerie, you definitely have to go through Fish&Game to have a raccoon, but not to have a flying squirrel. Flying squirrels are one of the animals you can have without a permit here in Florida.
Just didn't want anyone to get the wrong impression!
Welcome, Kathy! Nice to "see" you and Givens again. It sure looks like he's done well and sounds like he has his mama wrapped around his little paw (typical HOF position)!
Katie, Joan and I have been looking into the toxicity of rhubarb and the issue seems to lie in the leaves, not the stalks. We sure can't speak for Gliders, 'cuz we know nothin' about 'em - other than what we've read on your great website! But I don't believe rhubarb stalks are a problem for flyers. ...
Moca, I know you have some excellent pictures of Nugget. You'll have to resize one of them in a photo editing software application to be no larger than 80 pixels square, with the total file size being no more than 6 KB. Then just upload to this site (instructions below). Up at the top of the forum, ...
Thanks, Moca, for the heads-up on the links - we'll look into that.
I'm on a mission to find alternate sources for LM Vitamins - every single place I find online simply leads to the PetCo site. I will advise everyone when I work this through.
