Dandelions and Rolypolies

Postby Joan » Mon Apr 23, 2007 3:39 pm

Just read this today, "....dandelions are are also high in iron and have more vitamin A and E than broccoli." Just make sure they haven't been sprayed before giving them to your furballs.

And this from Coutrney (majcourt)" I gave my flyers a bowl full of rolypolies (aka sow bugs) and dirt the other night- they went crazy over them- wouldn’t you know it, there is nary a rolypoly to be found now ... word must have gotten out on the rolypoly hotline".

Here's a video of Courtney and her sister in younger days:

This year I vow to go outside and pick dandilion greens for my masters.
I have neglected to perform this duty in past years and beg their highnesses forgivness for denying them a delicacy that I, as their humble and unworthy servant, was aware of. And as penance for my sin, I will also make a sincere effort to hunt the elusive rollypolly and offer them on a tiny silver platter to my masters

Dandelions were brought by Europeans who were afraid to eat what grew here ''
