I wholeheartedly agree with everyone - Anita's wheels are the MUST-HAVE for squirrels! You are missing out if you don't have one - but more importantly, your squirrel is missing out. You cannot imagine the sheer joy of a squirrel with his Stealth Wheel! And Anita is great to deal with and very helpful. (She hand-delivered one of my wheels!)

If there are 2 FS sharing a cage, do they need 2 wheels, or is one sufficient, or 2 just better?

Are they better on the stand or attached to the side of the cage?

I only have one in my cage, but Lukas is the only one that uses it. I've only seen George sit in it once while eating a pecan.

I have mine on the stand but also tie-wrapped it to the side so it doesn't move all over the cage.

My Chuck hogs the wheel, but Mishi gets a turn every now and then. I don't have enough room for 2.

Mine is hung from the top of the cage.

I have a stealth wheel, too, that Avalon gave me because hers didn't use it. It is really cool and totally silent. I am trying to get my pup to use it. He hasn't got the hang of it yet, but hopefully he will figure it out!

I AGREE! Just got my wheel yesterday and Boss loves it! It's extremely sturdy, clean, and easy to manage. I had a hard time cleaning Wodent wheels and dont regret spending extra money for the wheel at all. The colors are great, and the stand is so perfect! It keeps the wheel from bumping into anything. No sounds, not even a whisper. Highlyhighly recommended!

My guys all love their Stealth Wheel. We have run into a small problem, however. I PM'd Anita about it, but I thought I'd mention it for everyone else. Boeing runs on his wheel constantly, but apparently haas also had time to chew a hole in the black plastic mesh 'floor' of the wheel. I had to take the wheel out of the cage so he doesn't injure himself. (He's going to be NUTS by tomorrow night!) I'm debating whether to attempt to put in a metal mesh hardware cloth or some other replacement so he doesn't wreck another wheel. I'd say to all HOFs, be sure to inspect the wheel regularly!

Check Home Depot and see if they have metal gutter guards.

Please watch your wheels closely. I'm in the middle of finals and being sick and I didn't look in the cage enough.

Jack ate through his wheel, I found the shellings on the bottom of the cage so he didn't eat them, thank god. I'm going to switch back to a metal wheel, I will miss the silence of the Stealth Wheel.

I think we may have found an answer to the disintegrating Stealth Wheel!
After finding large holes in the mesh, I had to do something quickly. Boeing is absolutely addicted to his wheel, and I couldn't wait to order more. (I did order 3 more, and now everybody has his/her own wheel. Much more peaceful!) I dug out some old Plastic Canvas that I had used for craft projects. I took apart the wheel and used the old mesh as a guide to cut a new track from plastic canvas. I had to sew two strips together, but I used strong cotton thread instead of yarn. It took about a half-hour, and it has lasted since June with no more holes. Yet. I keep looking every day, but so far it is holding up. Thanks to Anita for sending along directions to put the wheel back together, too. It is a pain in the neck, but it works. I'm still too worried about using metal hardware cloth, so I think I'll stick with this solution until it doesn't work any more.
