Our second flyer Bexley passed away this evening. He had his 15th birthday this last summer. Since Beacon's passing last year he's been our only flyer. Both Beacon and Bexley eventually went blind and stopped flying, but I loved to spend time with them. The sound of them gnawing on nuts late at the night was such a soothing sound.
Last year when Beacon passed, Bexley would chirp though the night looking for him. It broke my heart hearing his lonesome calls go unanswered. He eventually stopped chirping and never made another peep ever again.
I found Bexley in his nest box this evening cold and barely breathing. I held his tiny frail form cupped in both my hands to warm him, all the while speaking softly of my memories and love for him. After an hour or so he quietly breathed his last and left me sobbing in the dark.
Bexley, I pray you have found your way to Beacon and together are both young and whole again. Playing in the trees of a wonderfull forest where it is always spring and full of life and wonder. I hope you both will remember me when I too will make the journey one day and we can be together once again.

Re: Rest in peace Bexley
I feel you pain even though I lost Chuck several years ago. I have had dreams of his soft body diving down my shirt. We were truly blessed to have these little angels in our lives. Know they are all together waiting for us over the Rainbow Bridge.
