A third litter this year..

Postby den942 » Fri Nov 09, 2012 3:43 pm

I have a young female that killed her summer litter when they were 3-4 weeks old. I have no idea why. I've never had that happen before. I just saw her carrying a 1-2 week old baby around the cage. This is her third liter this year. I hope she takes care of them. She kept coming out the box, going back in, coming out with the baby
and going back in again. The father is over seven years old. So yes, males still
breed at that age. She has had four litters now and I have never seen any mating activity with them...
This is only the second time I've had a third litter in about 22 years....

That is strange Dennis. Why she would kill one litter at that age. For her to have 3 litters in one year must be proof of Global Warming. LOL  She must think ya'll are in Florida where Mishi had 4 litters one year.
